Roles & Responsibilities
1. Revenue Generation: Meeting or exceeding sales targets and revenue goals set by the organization. This involves identifying new business opportunities, negotiating contracts, and closing deals.
2. Strategic Planning: Contributing to the development of the overall business strategy by providing insights into market trends, competitor analysis, and opportunities for growth. This may involve collaborating with other departments to align business development efforts with organizational goals. Developing strategies to penetrate new markets and expand the company's customer base. This may involve conducting market research, identifying potential clients, and devising market entry plans.
2.1 Strategic targets to drive the AU region to bring in new clients in the system and systematic handover to the Account Management team on a regular basis.
2.2 Team planning & Structure: Identifying the right people and training them for self generation of leads, closure of the leads and a conversion target to be chased.
2.3 Search for the relevant exhibitions, plan the visits in the region with a budget in coordination with the directors/ senior management and prepare a full nurturing cycle for the team to follow the in person meetings on the grounds in the region.
2.4 Plan and execute more channels apart from the inbound and take equal interest in the branding/ digital marketing campaigns/ paid promotions required to generate more interest from the target market.
3. Team Leadership: Providing leadership and guidance to the business development team to ensure they are motivated, productive, and aligned with company objectives. This includes setting performance targets, providing training and development opportunities, and fostering a positive team culture.
4. Partnership Development: Identifying and cultivating strategic partnerships with other organizations to leverage complementary strengths and enhance business opportunities. This could involve establishing joint ventures, alliances, or strategic alliances.
5. Risk Management: Assessing and mitigating risks associated with business development activities, such as financial risks, legal risks, and reputational risks. This includes conducting thorough due diligence on potential partners and deals.
6. Reporting and Analysis: Providing regular reports and analysis to senior management on business development activities, including sales performance, market trends, and competitive landscape. This helps inform decision-making and strategy refinement.
7. Innovation and Adaptation: Staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and changing customer needs to innovate and adapt business development strategies accordingly. This may involve exploring new sales channels, service offerings, or business models.
8. Compliance: Ensuring that all business development activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. This includes adhering to ethical standards and promoting a culture of integrity within the business development team. Ensuring and alignment with the audit SOPs not only for yourself, but also of the team, which would be shared as well.
